Baba Faghani Shirazi
Baba Faghani Shirazi was one of the famous poets in Iran.
He was born in Shiraz. He was named “Sakkaki” and after that he changed it to “Faghani”. Later, Sultan Yaqub Baindri (Aqqoyunlu) gave him the title “Baba”.
His poems are in praise of the twelve Imams of the Shiites and Sultans of Bayndari, Sultan Yaqoob, Sultan Baisanqar, Sultan Rostam and Shah Ismail Safavi.
Babafghani went to Herat and Tabriz and After that, returned to Shiraz, in the period of Shah Ismail Safavi, he moved to Khorasan and lived in Abivard for a while, and then settled in Mashhad.
He died in Mashhad in 925 AH (1519 AD) at the age of sixty.
