Ali Abu Abdullah Ibn Bakooyeh Shirazi, known as Baba Kohi was lived in 10th- and 11th-century. He was one of the persian mystic. He was born in Shiraz in 337 A.H and passed away in 442 A.H. when he was 105 years old.
He spent his times in learning knowledge and met Sheikh Abu Saeed Abul Khair (a great Iranian poet and mystic) and Khwaja Abdullah Ansari.
Babakohi tomb dates back to Al-Buye period. This mausoleum was built on the slopes of Sabavi mountain on the left side of Quran Gate.It is located on the north of Shiraz
He lived in the cave of Sabooy Mount and prayed there and after his death, His followers buried him in that cave.
His tombstone was installed on his grave by Farhad Mirza Motamed al-Dawlah, the governor of Fars during Qajar period.
Visitors have to climb mountain to visit this beautiful tomb. The view of the city of Shiraz from Baba kohi tomb is very beautiful.
There is a porch made of plaster and stone in front of the cave. There is the oldest spring in Iran near his tomb.
There are several rooms around this spring which were built during Qajar period. The tomb of Babakohi is located above these rooms. There is also a stone pond surrounded by beautiful trees.
