Carpet weaving is an important part of Persian culture and Iranian art which is exported to the other countries of all over the world. Persian carpets display the Persian culture, history of Iran, and its various peoples.

Persian rugs and carpets have various types and different patterns and they are woven by women in village, town and workshops and manufactories. These carpets are famous due to their elaborate pattern, colorful and traditional design, artistical techniques and high-quality materials.
In carpet weaving cotton, wool and in some cases silk, are used .
Carpet is usually used to cover the ground.
rugs and carpets with beautiful patterns are usually used for decoration.
Iranians were the first people to weave carpets.
The oldest known carpet in the world is the Pazyrik carpet, which was discovered in 1949 AD (1327 AH).
“Persian carpet” most often refers to pile-woven textiles but flat-woven carpets and rugs like Kilim, Soumak are part of Persian carpet weaving.
The weaving of carpets and rugs is a time-consuming process which, depending on the quality and size of the rug.
