Various customs are held in each region of Iran.
One of them is about pregnancy. There is a beautiful custom during pregnancy in Shiraz.
People of Shiraz, in addition to Viarane and Sismoni Bran, have a ceremony called “Qur’an Anzaun or Lol Andazaun”.
This ceremony is usually held in four or five months of pregnancy.
The family of a pregnant woman prepares a special necklace made of gold and decorated with the name of God ( The verse of the Holy Quran) in order to ward off sore eyes and protect the mother and child. Because the holy name of God was written on this necklace so it is sacred and protective of mother and baby.
They also give her some other gifts which are decorated in a special way such as a colored tent, clothes, fruits and sweets.
Some friends and acquaintances go to the house of pregnant woman and participate in this cermony.
This ceremony is held by prayer and wish for health for the mother of the baby.
A necklace is hung around the mother’s neck in this ceremony, and she carries it with her throughout pregnancy, childbirth and even for a long time after giving birth.
