Shah Shuja

A famous governer of Al Muzaffar.

Abolfavares Jalal al-din Shah Shuja is one of the the most famous governer of Al Muzaffar. He was born in Yazd in 733 AH.
He memorized the Quran during his childhood and mastered the poetry and had a good handwriting.
Shah Shuja studied religion, literature and Arabic language. Qutb al-din Razi and Azda al-din Igi were his teachers.
His court was a place for gathering of poets, writers, artists and scientists including Emad Faqih Kermani and Hafez Shirazi.
Shah Shuja was the governer of Shiraz for about 27 years.
His father’s name was Amir Mubarizuddin Muhammad Muzaffar, the founder of Al Muzaffar dynasty.
His tomb was built in 1192 by Mirza Majid Kermani, a descendant of Shah Shuja after that it was renovated.
This tomb has four white stones columns and a blue dome. The interior of his tomb has been decorated with tiles. The inside of the dome has been adorned with four inscriptions of Shah Shuja’s poems.
Inside and outside the dome has also been decorated with some inscriptions of Hafez’s poems in Nastaliq script which was written in praise of him.
His tomb is located in Shiraz in Haft Tanan, on the northwestern side of Hafiziyeh.
